In August 2014, Liuhe Town and the Yangtze River Estuary Tourist Resort implemented the management system of "integration of district and government". In November 2017, it was selected into the second batch of administrative management system reform sequences of economically developed towns in Jiangsu Province. In August 2019, it passed the provincial-level evaluation and acceptance. In recent years, Liuhe Town thoroughly implemented the new development concept, focused on the goal of high-quality construction of a "riverside pastoral town with all-for-one tourism", adhered to the path of high-quality development, and formed an industrial system dominated by high-end equipment manufacturing and advanced materials.
